I have a 243 barreled rifle coming home to me after several years of collecting parts to build one. Thanks to Barney / Tactical Teacher my 243 shorty build has finally happened. I’m quite excited to see the build & shoot the rifle. I may use it this coming winter to do a cougar hunt here in AB! Post’em if you got’em.

You are most welcome!!

It was a joy and a pleasure to work with top notch components... tuning the Norinco rigs is a far cry from them LRB receivers with USGI parts galore!!

Cheers, Barney

yomomma it’s been almost seven years since I got the barrel & slowly collected the other parts. I still can’t get photo bucket to work to post pics. Just fired off 2 rounds & forgot ear protection ... ouch with the 18.5 barrel & SureFire brake!

p.s. can somebody message a email & post a pic or two for me please. Thank you fellow CGNers!

Here is the .243 M14 that Otokiak had built. Posting the pics for him.

A very nice rifle!

I still have almost enough parts for another shorty 18.5” in 308 & a heavy barrel stainless 22” builds. Collecting was the fun part for me ... now to use this 243 & heavy stainless you built me Barney! Hoping to get out this weekend & shoot a tuktu / caribou with the 243 as I’m back in Nunavut for 2 weeks fishing & hunting.

Again, you forgot to invite Randy and I

I picked up a 22” SAI 243 BBL this past winter from a very nice CGN’r....

I have all the parts and several actions to choose from, but can’t seem to find the time to pick my nose, let alone build a rifle for myself!

Oooh a 22” barrel ... id love that as I have an LRB M25 receiver waiting for a build! Hahaha ooh the m14 addiction.

Here ya go! It’s a 1:9 twist, and it doesn’t seem like it was used very much.... The bore shows no wear, the external surfaces shows some dings. So it is used!
