I know there has been a lot of 243 reloading threads but I am wondering what the general consensus is. Ball or stick powder for your 243 loads.
I have tried IMR 4350 with good results and 760 with fair results but is there a better choice? I am going to start working on a 100 gr load for a BLR 81that I picked up last weekend.

For light bullets I use 40-42 gr of H-380 for the simple reason of varmint shooting its an easy powder to throw, Use it for 80-90 grain bullets. I have had good luck with IMR 4831 but it throws like crap, and i have to weight each powder charges. To much time for a varmint rifle taht shoots sub moa with almost anything, and plus or Minus .3 grs! H-380 throws alost perfect .05s to .1s

Now if it was my 6mm PPC or BR thats different.

For heavy bullets (100s and 105s) Stick is best Just loaded some today with IMR 4350, works great!

"...Ball or Stick Powders..." Yes. The difference is whether or not you're using a powder thrower. I weigh every charge for rifle cartridges, so I don't care what shape the powder is.
