Hi There and thanks in advance.

I have been shooting federal factory ammunition for my 243 with the 85 GR Sieera BTHP. Both my 243's love it, so I am going to handload for it. I am looking for accuracy, not how fast and have an older Hornady manual and a newer Nosler one and there is a fair bit of difference in loads(that's another story). I want to use either IMR 4350 or H380 (as I have a ton of both). So anyone have a load that they have used that is accurate with this bullet and either of the powders.

Thanks

Mark

Load for the bullet weight. Who made it doesn't matter. My old Lyman book gives IMR4350 as the accuracy load for an 85 grain jacketed bullet. 38.0 to 44.0. With 38.0 being the accuracy load. However, a load that shoots well in one rifle won't necessarily do so in yours. Work up the load for your rifle.

Thanks

Thanks for the information everyone. Used IMR 4350, 41 grains, Federal Brass, Federal 210M primer, COl = 2.655. Shot under 1/2 MOA at 100 yards. Next weekend try 200 and 300 yards with it.

Thanks all
