I have spent many hours trying to find a load for my .243WSSM. Almost left the gun in the bush.
It is a Winchester M70 Featherweight. 1/10 twist.
I have had no luck with bullets over 80g, 70-75g being about the best.
Max charge weights seem to work the best. I have tried IMR 3031, IMR 4350, BL-C2, H380, and Varget.
BL-C2 at max charge weight with 70g Noslers is about the best I have come up with, followed by 75g V-Max Mollies with a max charge of H380. Lots of times I have found the most accurate load for a rifle is 10% or so below max. This was not the case with my WSSM.

IMR3031 will do. There's data for 58 grains and up on Hodgdon's site. You have to work up the load for your rifle though.

Hey there,
I have been shooting the 243 wssm in F-Class shoots for about 4 years now.
I have a few rifles chambered with this cartridge and have had excellent luck.
The best load I am using for this cartridge is win cases, fed 210m primers, 44grs of H414 or 45 grs of H4350 with Lapua 90 gr scenars bullets.
Its pushing this little bullet out at 3240 fps.
At 1000yds I have a 27 MOA drop from a 100 yrd 0.
Another great little load is a 87gr V-Max bullet with the same powder charge.
FPS is about 3300.

I've had a Win model 70 coyote in 243WSSM for a while now. I found with off the shelf ammo that mine favoured the heavier ammo in the 75-90 grain range. That being said all of the ammo was hunting grade and not that accurate.

I've just started reloading. Here is what I've put together and will be trying out when the winds calm down:

OAL 2.3.

1) 75 grain Hornady A-max Win 243WSSM brass, CCI BR2 primers and 43 grains of IMR 4350.

2) 75 grain Hornady A-max Win 243WSSM brass, CCI BR2 primers and 44 grains of IMR 4350.

3) 80 grain Berger, the same as above and with 43 grains of IMR 4350.

We'll see how they shoot. I should note that I've loaded up the internal mag with these reloads and cycled them through the action. There were no feed issues at all. Which wasn't always the case with some of the other ammo I've tried.

The rifle has a semi bull barrel, has been bedded and a trigger job. The scope is my Burris fullfield II 3-9x 40mm. So not a target rifle but still should be fairly accurate if I can find the right load for it.
