Thanks Dave, I'm going to try some H414 in mine. Like you, I just can't get Varget to group as good as I think the rifle and I can.
I'm amazed at how that low priced Marlin bolt action performs. 75 grain HP and spire pointed 100 grain go into the same group at 100 metres. The ten inch twist make it a bit iffy with 100 grain bullets, but if I fill the case with H4831 the 100 grain spire points shoot just as good as the 75 Hollow point and like I said, into the same group. Also, any bullet keeps going into the same group without walking, as the barrel gets so hot you can't touch it.
