244 cal

Anyone familiar with this calibre, never heard of it before but today there are actually two Remington model 722 rifles listed for sale in this calibre. Thanks for any assistance, cheers, Ken Watts.

When Remington came out with the 6mm.......they used a slower twist hoping to market it as a varmint round and called it .244 ...........that never worked so they changed to 6mm.

what ultramag says. supposedly has a slow twist rate so won't stabilize longer bullets (ie 100 grain spitzers).

remington has a way of doing this. 244 becomes 6mm remington, 280 becomes 7mm remington express, then back to 280.
