Been looking for a LH Bolt for my sister, as she's left eye dominant. I've had the opportunity to pick up a 25-06AI from a fellow co-worker on a M700. I haven't taken a look at it, nor have I shot it. $500, although I'm sure I could wrassle him down a bit, nones the scope nor rings. What is CGN'rs thought on this little AI offering? Should I snap up, or would holding out for another LH, which I may find at the Calgary Show?

If it hasn't been abused or shot out and you handload I'd say snap it up. I shoot one on a LH M70 action and love it. Fun and easy to shoot well, low recoil. Coyotes hate it and hopefully this fall so will the deer.

I use a standard 25-06 for deer, and it's great, the AI will be fine
She's right handed, but is left eye'd. We really weren't too sure why she wasn't hitting anything for a while, then noticed that she had her head wrapped way over. She switched shoulders, and her shooting really improved. It's pretty hard for her to work the bolt on that Parker-Hale though. A friend had brought out his own Ruger LH, and she was very comfortable with the action. She's tried semi's, pumps and levers, and certainly doesn't like them, so we (my Dad and I) are kinda stuck, trying to find her a bolt. If this 25-06 doesn't pan out, it may come down to finding something in a new rifle for her.

Sounds like a good choice to me. I am right handed but shoot left for exactly the reason described. I've done this for about 40 years and cannot shoot a left handed bolt since I learned on RH bolts. Oh well. I would have thought a short action might have been easier for her to shoot in a bolt.

Certainly getting a left hand rifle is the best answer to the problem, but what happens if you are unable to locate one? There is a simple trick to shooting a right hand bolt left handed, and with some practice you can get pretty slick. With the rifle shouldered, with the right hand supporting the fore-end, rotate it a quarter turn to the left. Now the bolt handle is facing upwards and can easily operated with the left hand. I wanted to be able to shoot from either my strong or weak side, and now I can operate a bolt gun reasonably well left handed. I even took my warthog with a south paw hold.
I am a southpaw as well, so know the trouble one can have finding rifles.
If your thinking a new 2506 south paw you'll be looking at Savage 11series, Tikka T3's or Ruger M77's. Depending on the finish these will run 500ish(savage) to 700's. No M700 offering for a lher in 2506rem, so if the M700 is the preference she'd have to consider a different chambering.
As far as the 2506AI goes, fine varmit to deer cartridge. Brass for the AI's can easily be fireformed from standard to AI. If something should happen and she'd need to buy ammo regular 2506 rem can be used in a pinch.
Like mentioned the action alone makes it a decent deal. I'd snap it up personally. (If you or she's not interested I'd be...lol
