Thanks, Boomer. Maybe the best solution for a pelt hunter, if you can't stabilize the 55gr .243 bullets for accurate long-range shooting, is a .22-250 with 55gr V-Max's. Here's a couple more pics of the 'yote. You can see the damage for yourself! I'm holding up my fingers to show that the shot was taken at close to 9.5 bills (942 yards).

what powder you using I just got a .223 for coyotes trying to work out a load

Well took me a day or two to get back
I use 25grs XMR 2015 50gr Hornady V_max =3500FPS here is a pic of a target I shot at 100YRDS and a pic of the rig it is a stock Rem. no bedding etc. just how I got it new I have been very happy with it

I will try and get out again and do a 200yrd target just for fun. to see How well the gun can perform but I need a calm slightly warmer Day.
 
the price of hides is so low at this point in time unless you're keeping them for your self I wouldn't be to concerned with pelt damage.. they're not worth the effort it takes to skin them...
