Little project that's in the works. Old 100gr. winchester silver tips running about 2630fps out of a 20in barrel. Will be my deer rig out to 150 yards this season.
The 87gr. pills will be running about 2900fps.

Russ...

That isn't the .25 cal I would go with for your application, but then again, I have no interest in hunting with a black rifle.

Interesting cartridge, and quite potent for its intended application.
I personally love the 32-20 cartridge for many of the same reasons. Though not quite as potent, my IMR 4227 charges behind a 110 grain hard lead semi-wadcutter with copper gas check is pushing 2000 fps with NO over-pressure signs. Good enough for mid sized game within 100 meters.

I like the odd ball cartridges. and I have never deer hunted with a black rifle, thought it was time to try something new because it's 2018.
Here's a you tube link to some testing done with the 25/45. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IROstdqSo30

After seeing the thread on 223 I thought I better go bigger.

I have to go bigger than 223 because I live in Alberta ;-). My other big game rifle is a 300 winmag so it's time to get something smaller. I think 6x45 would be better overall but I have a .257" barrel blank doing nothing.

The 2545 sharps will be very close to the 250savage. With controlled expansion bullets its a great deer caliber within its limits. With varmint bullets it isnt lacking in that department either
I hope to see photos of the gun when its assembled

From what I've read avoid the LEE get the RCBS as they come with a 3rd forming die to convert the .223 brass. I didn't think dies were a problem to ship to Canada?

The RCBS dies are small base units for loading in AR and other auto loading rifles. The Lee dies are made for standard .223 chambers in manually operated rifles.
No worries getting dies here yet, but who knows what UN crap be comin' down the chute?
