25 Creedmoor anyone use it?

Sorry, Dan, I handload light for caliber with all my rifles. I love velocity but accuracy first, plus I'm not a long range shooter on paper and definately not animals. I love handloading however, this old Fudd is not jumping off the wagon, into the lake, with the latest greatest. ;) I killed this buck this past November shooting the 125 grain accubond with the great ole turdy-aught-six.

Congrats on a beautiful buck! I love the red plaid Mackinaw style jacket and hat too. Did you take that buck while hunting on foot or from a stand?

I was hunting on foot, as usual. However, I'm sitting more often in the past 5 years, as the old knee's are wearing-out, plus I carry heavy rifles, which dosen't help. I do have the Mackinaw coat along with other brand name red and black plaid. I'm an old Elmer Fudd and love the nostalgia of yesteryear atire. I also hunt the old traditional methods, it works for me. The 25-06 I'm having built will be a really nice set-up for deer, I love pursuing big mature bucks.

My favourite hunt is on the ground as well. I would love to see your new build when you have it completed.

Cartridge design and its use should come first first - long action, short action , etc twist , and stuff like rifle max weight for match or hunting ae not nearly so important as they can be adjusted after.
Betweeen the two for a match file I would with the 25 Creedmoor for F/O or PRS simply because of the sustained recoil factor, even in a 22 pound gun.
That and the cartridge configuration.
For a hunting rifle I would likely go for the 25/06 between thd two.

HOWEVER, neither would be my first choice in either an F/O rifle or a hunting rig.
Never was a quarter bore fan for several reasons ......

I use 243, I have no need for a quarter bore. Ammo will be stupid expensive unless one reloads.
243 at $35 bucks a box makes it just fine for deer hunting.
These new cartridges are badly overpriced. 6.5CM is coming down alot so we shall see what the 22, 25CM's come out at

Yep, another superfluous cartridge that is no better than others, but they will market the snot out of it and convince all the newer shooters that all you need to do is pull the trigger, and whole species will drop where they stand. LOL
The 25 creedmoor is near perfection, it’s only flaw is bullet selection. Heavy bullets go the perfect speed and still fit a remington short action. Barrel life is probably similar to it’s big brother and way better than a 6 creed. Brass is cheap and plentiful. Recoil is manageable.

What’s not to like? The more people buy in, the better support it gets, the cheaper the components. I hope they market the #### out of it too.

Then when demand starts to wain, they will develop another one and market the #### out of it too.

I never could understand why some seem so butt hurt every time a new cartridge comes out, nothing forcing you to get one, geez, shoot what you like and bypass the rest
