25 Dollar Mosin Nagant

I picked up a Mosin Nagant for 25 bucks today. I shot 80 rounds through it this aftermoon and it shoots well but the windage needs to be adjusted. So I think I got a good deal its drilled and tapped for a PU scope mount as a kicker.

Not a bad looking rifle at all. How is the bore?

To get a scope base, you should measure carefully centre to centre distances between holes and try to find a base that is the same. Otherwise new holes will have to be drilled and tapped.

I'd contact Westrifle as they have reasonable scopes and mounts etc.

Is it a Tula or Izhevsk and is there a scope number on the left of the chamber?

It was bought from West Rifle last year in sniper configuration and the previous owner stripped the scope, scope mounts and laminate stock thats all I know right now

Definitely. Post war stock with fairly fresh cut scope recess. Bolt has also been ground down and re numbered to match the rifle. Post war refurb. Nice rifle for $25!

Im not interested in making money off the rifle, there is enough people out there trying to make a buck of guns. All that attitude does is drive up prices and make certin firearms unaffordable to average joe. I got it for a song and when it comes time to move it the good deal will be passed along. But for now it awaits a scope and mount and has found a good home right next to my Enfield

The hardwood stock that the rifle is currently wearing isnt original at all. The rifle was purchased with a laminate stock and the previous owner removed it and modified another with a dremel tool so a scope and mount could be fitted. Its too bad he doesnt have the laminate stock anymore as i would have prefered it over the hardwood
