25 More Sleeps......

there is noticably more ducks around this year.
interesting to see what happens when the honkers start flighting through
were i live, last year we didnt quite see the numbers.

hope you have a good season

It was not a good year locally... very dry, many traditional wetlands were completely dry.... early run-off ponds dried up quickly, leaving early nesters high and dry, causing high predation as they migrated overland. Still excited for the season to start... mostly due to a two year old springer pup that is fully ready to go, and a couple new shotguns that need to make down confetti.

A dry spring should make for a stellar season on Ruffies in your area Hoyt. That new pup may just get a real workout on upland.

We have a ten day safari scheduled for the end of September... bowhunting moose, and uplanding with the dogs for grouse; ruffed, spruce and sharpies... with a little walleye fishing (and eating) thrown in... should be good times.

Plus, my son and I both drew doe tags, so a couple of November spinners should hit the freezer.

things are looking good down here in southern Ontario ,,,lots of grain come off the fields now and the birds are hitting the fields hard ,,,,would be nice to have a late summer early fall hunt now to clean up some of the birds that stay around here in the parks and golf courses ....Dutch

Ok now I am officially jealous, you just had to throw in the walleye and ruffie combo didn't you?!!

About a hour and a half drive and you could be doing it too.

Trouble is I have a limited amount of time on my days off to get to know good fishing holes. Like Hoyt whenI lived in Northern Ontario it was in my back yard so there was lots of time to get to know the hot spots. Now I have to travel to it and guess where to begin? But I suppose a poor day fishing is better than the best day at work?
