I am working on a project that required .251 bullets that are cast soft, this is for an old rifle.

I contacted bullet barn as they have a 50gr but I do not know if they can cast soft.

Is there anyone out there who would know of someone casting a .251 bullet that can cast them soft, looking ideally for a 65gr bullet but I will work with a 50gr or so as well.

I have found some airgun pellets that are actually bullets rather than skirted pellets in the US but they are 14 cents each if I buy 500 and I would like to find something closer.

Thanks

A bump here, does anyone have a .251 50gr or heavier mold? I hope that I could get some soft lead bullets cast.

Thanks

That's a pretty strange animal, I would bet you need to have a custom mould made, then find someone who casts that is willing to make them for you.

Mountain Molds can make you a 2 cavity like this for $90USD:

That is the problem, way too costly to try to cast some rounds to test our loading of rimfire ammo for this old girl.

Bullet Barn makes a hard cast but I am not comfortable with the increase in pressure of hard cast over soft lead.

Maybe buckshot run through a sizer? #3 is .25" and #2 .27"

Have you ever seen #2 or #3 buck for sale?

I find #4, 00 and 000 for sale.

I was thinking about #3 if I could find it but the idea is to make something similar to original.
