Is anyone reloading the 256?
How hard is it to find brass and bullets, referring to the 60gr. FP or 60 gr HP.
I know that 357 brass can be necked down but would like to know if factory 256 brass is out there.
I have been thinking about re-barrelling a 77/357.
Has anyone done that?

Very few rifles chambered in it. Ammo hasn't been loaded since the 90's and any collector stuff runs around $3 US each. Quality Cartridge, Stateside makes brass. Try Epp's. They're the go-to place for anything odd or unusual.

Thanks for the replies.
I will be looking at the gun shows and will be going to Epps in the next few weeks.
As far as necking down 357 brass is what I would plan to do, that goes without saying. Will be putting the plan into action in the new year.
First the 77/357 and 4 or 5 factory 256 rounds to see if there is any feeding issues, I don't think there will be.
It is going to be a costly venture, and I think it will be an interesting one, a 77/256 Winchester Magnum.
