What caliber does everything best? .270? nope .30-06 does better. But then again .300 win does better yet. But then .338 does better yet. It never ends, there is always something better. .257 bob is an awesome light recoiling rifle great for varmints and deer. Can't think of anything that kills em deader.
It was the first gun I ever purchased still have it would never sale coming down under with me, hoping I have lots of life left. my question is thought about Berger 115 VLD bullets any one with recipes? have always used 120 Speer boat tails that shoot around moa or better. picked up some Berger Hunting VLD in 115 grain looking to see what I can do Thanks in advance Jim.
My 77 Ruger does not like boat tail bullets and so far the best accuracy is with 75gr. bullets and the 80 to 90 grain bullets are not all that great. It is a bit fussy with 100 grain bullets but it is still a work in progress.
The BLR on the other hand it seems to like whatever I feed it.
All in all it is a great cartridge and if you have never owned one you don't know what you are missing.
