Has any one tried Superformance in the 257 Roberts. I would think it would work with mid to heavy bullets. It is listed for the 6mm Remington but only for light to mid weight bullets.
It is also listed for the 25wssm and the Roberts has almost the same capacity.

Hodgdon powder site. As far as I can find the Capacity of a 25wssm case is 55gr of water and the 257 is 56gr.
If anyone can tell me different it would be nice.

The 6mm Remington and the 257 Roberts share the same parent case. 7x57 Mauser. Any load listed for the 6mm with similar weight bullets should be a good place to START with your 257 Roberts.

You don't mention the rifle you will be using.

The 257 Roberts can be found chambered in M91/93/95/96 Mausers and usually have 1-14 twist rates. Even the later Remingtons and Winchesters had 1-14 twist rates. The Ruger M77 has I believe a 1-10 twist rate as does the Rem 700 Classic and recent Winchester Mod 70s. These later rifles should be able to stabilize bullets from 100 to 120 grain bullets with Superformance.

I see hunters home beat me to the rest.

Found an article in Shooting Times Aug. 2017 featuring the 257 Roberts and they listed Superformance powder with 90 and 117gr bullets.
I think I have enough info to start some load work with Superformance Powder.
