257 roberts

Hi
I find they won't shoot well in my 257 win xtr fwt
I floated the barrel and bedded it but have not had a chance to try those bullets yet
They shoot well enough from my rifle. Not Miniscule of Angle or any such high falootin' shootin', but that could be the shooter or the rifle. Good enough to cover 5 rounds with my scope cover at 150 yards. As my Pa used to say "If you can hit Minute of Pie Plate at 200 yards you will never go hungry."
I do find the recoil from the +P rounds a little objectionable, but it is a light rifle and I'm a skinny old guy that has grown to dislike recoil over 70 years.

Thanks
It is a light rifle

I was suppose to inherit Win70 FWT in 257 Roberts but his daughter who just happens to be my ex fiancé is dragging her heels passing it on to me. Do I sense some lingering resentment? lol

I have all the other calibres around the 257Roberts but am keeping my eye on EE just in case someone is silly enough to sell a WinFWT in that magic 25cal. Cheers !!

Chuck…thank’s for the tip. Looked at it, current bid $525.00 …. Was going to throw in my hat at $600 but i know it will go higher. Don’t have an account and I just bought 3 more Mod70 FWT in the last month thinking if one of them doesn’t shoot well I’ll rebarrel it to the Rob. Fortunately/unfortunately they all shoot well so I won’t be sacrificing any for a conversion. Now have a 6.5CM, a 243Win, and two 270Wins. All my Tikkas are jealous because even though they are a touch more accurate none of them are as pretty as the Win70 Featherweights.
