257 Stw

I am thinking of having my 257 wby rechambered to the STW. Does anyone have any experience with the 257 STW. such as velocities and load info.

Wouldn't it be just about identical? I understand the desire for a wildcat, but the 257 roy is cool enough to be a wildcat.

the stw is longer. Will your action and mag handle it? (action must be able to handle full length magnum cartridges like the 375 H&H, 300 wby and the like)

yes it will handle it the bolt stop and action block just have to be removed.
does anyone have experience with this caliber. I am not asking if I should do it or not.

I have afreind who was first in our area with this gun. Now they are all over the place. He is one of those guys who shoots .75" with three shots at 100 yda and gets upset He has killed a few white tails at 395 + yards and saw down a nice mulie last year at 410 with one shot. I just do not understand how he can do it............but he is at the range twice month. Constantly testing loads or cleaning his gun !!!

I have one going together now. Good long range caliber, adds 100-150 fps over the Wby. Lazer beam on deer and antelope. - dan
