257 Wby resized to 270 Wby

I have some 257 Wby brass that I would like to neck up to 270 wby... has anyone done it. Will it thin out the necks to much. I only have 18 cases, so I was just wondering...

I once made a bunch of 257 Weatherby brass into 264 Win Mag and had no problems whatsoever. See no reason why it would not work. If .020" is too much, what about making 35 Whelen brass from 30-06? Eagleye.

I do it all the time. Works real good. I also use 7 mm weatherby brass too. The 3 of em are identical. Have fun.

I have made hundreds of 270 Wby brass from 7mm Rem mag over the past thirty years or so.

One pass through a full-length sizing die, set so the bolt will just barely close on the reformed case, and you're ready to go.

7MM Rem brass is 2.500 vice 2.549 like the Weatherby. Does is stretch when resized to 2.549 or do you load it undersized???

The cases are a tad short alright, but that means you never have to trim them.

Just reform , load and go.
