does anyone have any data for a 257 weatherby using 130 gr ULD RBBT bullets.

My buddy is gonna try these in his Vanguard. I'll be doing the loading.

I have US869 H-1000 IMR 7828 and 50BMG.

I'm hoping onna these will work.

Any thoughts???

Thanks

this is a modern weatherby vanguard and has a 1-10 twist.. we're hoping the 130s will stabilize.. if they do we will probably try the 140-156gr bullets until we find one that simply won't shoot then shoot the heaviest we can.. but for now I thought I'd simply check if any one here had done 130s.

Thanks

The German Weatherby's sport the 1-12 twist and if you wanted to use 130gr+ bullets in a .257 you should have bought the 270WBY? The factory ammo was/is Hornady's 117RN for older guns cause 120's keyholed..........Harold*German 7mm WBY wouldn't shoot bullets over 140gr because of the rifling twist. They marketed them as speed freaks with lighter bullets for curbside appeal.........

I don't know if anyone publishes data for a 130, so you're probably on your own. Assuming you still have the factory throating, I'd start around 65 grains of H1000 and work up. Maybe try looking at data for the 264 win mag as a starting point.
