257 weatherby at the range today Pics

Took my M700 L/H .257 weatherby out today and here are the results.
the left 115gr partitions grouped .480'' and the 110gr accubonds grouped .380'' at 100 yards. This gun built by guntec shoots awsome,itsports a VXIII 4.5x14x40 and a 26'' gaillard barrel and with a little bolt alignment that was it for work. the 115gr velocity was 3400fps and the 110 were 3500fps both using 71.5gr of Retumbo.

Very good choice for an open country hunting rifle. A friend's son used his .257Wby Vanguard to smoke an elk during the late season hunt. A classic last day opportunity at 400 yards across an alfalfa field. When the KING of the .257's boomed, that young cow elk went straight down no muss, no fuss.

The action and barrel are Guncote and Barry Jensen of Bits of Pieces, did a nice job. Cost abot $275.00 after the dust settled.
