Hi
I was wondering if anyone has data for Retumbo and the 257 Weatherby Magnum?
Seems to me I seen it somewhere but can't find it.
Any pet loads.
Thanks Reb

I've got several loads; but the closest thing to a pet load now is the 115 grain Ballistic tip and 70 grains of old style 7828 with a 215. It sort limps along at 3450 fps out of a 24" barrel but I get by. It's a real killer on reds which has hinds at muledeer buck size and stags about the size of an younger bull elk.

What I did with the Accubond was 71 grains of H1000 because of its easy availability in Australia as AR2217. Its moving too. Near as I can tell it doesn't act much different than the 115.

A much harder bonded bullet is the 100 grain Swift Scirocco. I load it up with 68 grains of H4831 (2213) for 3500. If you want to shoot through a couple of something with a hard hitting .25 it's worth a look.

An old favorite that I load for my son and another long gone .257 is the 100 grain Ballistic tip and 68 grains of IMR4831. It got tried for the very scientific reason of an old Nosler maual listing it as the most accurate powder. It might even be for all I know, but anyway it sure shoots. We used the same load in a couple .257s in the CWD days. It's a violent killer. Exits are rare, maybe 1 in 10.

I have used the 100 gr Barnes TSX with IMR 4350 at a bit over 3500 fps to kill everything from Wolves to Bull Elk
Just have a bunch of Retumbo that I would like to try.
