Another member is looking for 26 mm rings in the buy and sell, and its starting to become a discussion, so I have cut and pasted my reply to him here as well, hoping that someone has an idea for this:

I realize that this is the Buy and sell and not a discussion forum, but would you not save a bunch of money by buying 1" rings and reaming out that small of amount of material. I can't see that being very expensive, but I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night either!

I'll copy this text and ask over at the precision rifle forum for those that are interested in this issue.

I myself have been shoppping for 26 mm rings as well, and as mentioned above they are not cheap!

I modified a set of 1" rings to fit a 26mm Kahles scope that I have. I mounted the weaver rings on a rail and then used a 1" round bar with fine sand paper wrapped around it. I put the top of the ring halves on loosly and slide the bar/slandpaper back and forth untill it just touched the bottom and top of the rings. It worked very well. Make sure you do not go too far and check often as to your progress.

I will paste my answer also from the other thread.
Why bother with all the hassles, I bought apair of Leupold rings in 26mm, they were almost the same price as the 1" rings. Do not use 1" rings they will damage your scope.
