I have owned several 264 Win Mags over the years. It is really a performing chambering.
Any decent 140 grain bullet and V-N170/570 or Retumbo or old H5010 will get you 3200
and pennies in a 26" barrelled rifle.

What that does for flat shooting has to be seen to believe. I shot a big cow moose at 525
yards. Held on hair at the top of the hump.....double lung, and DRT. Bullet exited.

Some of these other hotshots are a bit faster, but not enough to make a REAL difference,
and they do consume more powder, and deliver shorter barrel life. EE

Why not something that has easy to find for components now and in the future? 6.5 prc? Build a 6.5 wsm. 7mm rem mag will take 140s to past 3200 easy. I went with a 7mm wsm 15 years ago. If I could do it over it have been a rem mag simply for easier to find brass. Belt and long action are minor details anyway.

Last couple years I've been playing with a 22 inch barreled plain old 270 win. 110 gr barnes ttsx. Over 3400 fps. Sub moa. That's 257 weatherby mag territory with less powder and I could go more. I see no need. Yes I dont have the bc but who cares ? It's a hunting rifle. It's hard to find a bullet that can actually handle those speeds anyway.

Personally if I was buying a fast 6.5, it would be 264 WM, for no reason other than that cartridge has always intrigued me, way before the development of the 2 named in this thread. Just a "scratch the itch" issue I seem to have.

Of the 2 named in the OP, If I had to choose between those two, I'd go all out and get the 6.5-300
