260 or 6.5x55 in T3 Varmint

The 140 is a hard bullet to recover on a broadside shot, but I got one back from a moose. It is classic Partition.
Peeled back to the partition, retained just a bit of the front core. Found under hide of the far side of the moose.

I have shot a lot of deer, muleys, Whitetails and Blacktails with the 6.5x55 and 140 or 125 Partitions. I have recovered only 2 bullets from over 30 animals.
Both were the 125 grainers, and both were shot at a noticeable angle, rather than broadside.

I have some 130 Accubonds and Sciroccos loaded. They shoot well, but no game taken yet. I am expecting stellar performance from both bullets.

I've got the 130 scirocco IIs as well but haven't loaded any up. I did get great performance from the 129 accubond long range. It was only one animal, so the sample size is small but it was at around 300 yards and a complete pass through on both shoulders.

Some of the 6.5x55 are throated for the long 160 grain bullets. What is the Tikka throated for or the CZ 550?
Anyone know?
It is one of the reasons I have stayed away from the 6.5x55.

My rifle is a T-3 Varmint Stainless, my hunting partner has a Super Varmint, and another friend has a Sporter, and the best part is, I was using the same load in all three rifles. My Sako Bavarian Carbine averages right around 1/2moa for three shots. We all use 129 to 142 gr bullets.

I had a T3 Hunter in 6.5 swede that was crazy accurate. When I bought it the guy claimed 0.25 inch groups which I chose not to argue with him about. It came with a mix of loaded ammo, some 120, some 140 and a few handloads. Just having fun first time at the range I shot a 1.3 inch ten shot group with a mix of the ammo. It wasn't until about shot 7 I realized how cool that was. When I got to load development working with H4831 and Re22 I had a hard time figuring out which was the best and they were all great.
