Does anybody have a load for 260 rem using 139 gr Lapua Scenars. All I could find was N550,N160 and N560.As i don't have any of those. What do you suggest?
Lapua gives a COL of 2.795 .012 from the lands gives me 2.945 COL
If I load them from the mag I can use 2.935 COL.

Question since I can load then .160 longer. How will increased usable boiler room affect me pressure wise? Can somebody run this on Quick load?

Rich:cool:

I get best results in my rifle using RL19. It's a little slower than the standard 308 powders but seems to do well in my 260. Varget and RL15 are good to.

Yep, use data for a 140 grain bullet. Chuck Hawks suggests H4831.
The only load I found specifically for the 139 grain Lapua was for the .260 AI.

I load the 139's in my 260 BDL 42.0 RL19 @ OAL 2.79
and
44.0 Grains in my Target rifle. Same length.

You might want to do a search or ask on steelchickens.com, a silhouette oriented web site.

I use 46.2 grs of H4831sc with the 142 grain Matchking in my custom 260, and it does around 2740 fps out of my 23" tube. Accurate too, around half MOA

46.7 grs H4831sc with the 140 Amax does similar speeds and shoots about as good. Id think somewhere around these loads would be giving good results with the 139 Scenar too, but Ive never gotten any to try. I think Id try the 123 Matchking or Scenar before trying the 139-142 class again, just to see a difference good or bad

H4350 would be another good option but Ive always used mainly 4831sc with bullets over 130 grain in my 260

2 different fellas at Calgary gunshow had 139gr Scenars for sale One had them for $45 a box of 100 and one had them for $30 a box.Guess which ones I bought:rolleyes: I wonder how they will work on game? When I finish the load for the 260 I need to work one up for the 6.5-300 win:D

My 260AI gives me 2755 with the 139 Scenar and 46.4 grains of H4831SC with very low SD's It also shoots into very impressive groups, around .4-.5" at 200 for 5. I am using reformed 7-08 Winchester brass and CCI BR-2 primers. Regards, Eagleye.
