looking for a starting point to load some 130 gr hunting rounds for the 260 in a rem mod 7 H4350 is the preferred powder. anyone have something similar with a hunting load worked up?
I'm kind of in the same boat. Will be developing a load for the 127 LRX with H4350 and Lapua brass. I do have some reloder 16, but have more H4350 and will start there. I don't think you can go wrong with H4350.
My pet load in the 3 260's I have had has been 44gr of H4350 behind a 130gr Berger VLD at 2.810 COL. Out of the three rifles I have run that load in, all shot sub MOA with a 5 shot group, mind you two were MTU contour barrelled custom builds and one rifle was a Desert Tech. Model 7's have been known to heat up quick and start to walk a group around. It's not a smoking hot loads, but it has done what I needed it to do with ease.
In my 22" pencil barrelled 700 Mountain Rifle, the 260rem was happy at 43.5gr of H4350 and 130 Accubonds, but that's max listed, start at the min charge at 39.5 and work up carefully as always,
