.270 A-Bolt Medallion with BOSS $512 new

A .270 Win? With BOSS? Don't think so - don't think it's made. .270 WSM yeah, and it would run close to $900, around $800 for a standard .270 w/o the BOSS. I might be wrong, but....

Are they good enough for deer at short range - sorry, just came off the .30-06 thread.

.270 Win w. Boss is what it says. mmm, just bought a .308 Cooey, how much more trouble would I get into...

.270 and .270 WSM are listed separately.
and the .270 is available from the factory with the BOSS.

otherwise i have no idea why it is $320 cheaper than all the other calibers. they had the .25-06 A-Bolts with BOSS on sale earlier for $650 IIRC, i guess they are clearing out some calibers.

15 years ago the Browning A-bolt was a bargain priced rifle. Since then prices have advanced due to superior advertising and marketing. My father bought a Abolt synthetic blued .270 with BOSS for $400 in about 1992. At the same time rem 700s and win 70s were going for $700 and up. Go figure.

Probably because its the only one they have that's not a magnum. Don;t matter anyway, they probably only have one.

The best deal in there is the VXIII 2.5-8 for $479

It's probably old leftever stock that hasn't sold yet.

Le Baron unloads rifles they have bought years and years ago. I heard about guys buying "new" guns only to find out, they were already 10 years old!

in this day and age with average production gun finish/materials heading downhill, buying a rifle and finding out its 10+ years old cant be that bad :)

the wierd thing is, the clearance .25-06s i can understand... it took me a lot of thought before i finally shelled out for one.
but .270? its a pretty vanilla caliber, you wouldnt think theyd have a hard time selling them.

i dont think id shell out extra money for the boss -- when they first came out werent they an extra $150+? seemed silly on a hunting rifle.
but hey if they want to throw it on there for 'free' ill take it. something to play with at the range.

i wonder if they can be removed, and what they look like. just a threaded barrel?
