For casual coyote shooting where damage is not a concern anything that groups well in your gun is good enough. Recommend using the same load you use during the hunting season that way you get valuable experience concerning hold-over and windage on dogs way out there.

Agree on this one, in this area most deer shots are running shots there is no better way to practice than shooting coyotes with your deer rifle.

Makes sense , never thought of that, and I don't care what they look like when I'm done with them
 
My favorite 270 coyote load is a 130 grain Nosler balistic tip bullet, using IMR 4064 powder.
They work out to 541 yards. 1st shot it stopped and looked at the impact, 2nd shot it layed down, for good.
