270 factory ammo for coyotes

Hey guys I have tried to do some research on Google but everyone seems to want to save the pelt with a 270, I'm wondering what's the best factory ammo to use in a 270 if I just want them to drop dead where they stand and not worried about saving the pelt or how large of a wound I create. I was originally hoping to use something in a 150 grain so I could use the same ammo for everything and not have to sight it in for each thing I want to hunt, however I was told that the bigger stuff (130-150 grain stuff) will not expand very good and pass right through and have a greater chance at having a "runner". The whole reason I bought a 270 was because I want something over kill on them so I can drop them where they stand at fairly good distances. I bought a 270 to be a good all around gun and I am not interested in buying another gun. I also own a 22 mag that I was originally going to use but I was worried about it being too light. 110 or 130 cup and core cheap stuff your rifle likes.

With a 270, I would use 130 grain for everything. Find a brand that shoots good with your gun.
 
I just try and put the softest piece of cheap sht bullet I can find in my 338 Rum , VAPOURIZE ! ... Usually just enough left for a crow shoot
 
I have a .270 and have used the cheap Winchester 150 grain power points and the Winchester XP3 in 150 grain as well on coyotes and as long as I did my part everyone of them folded up on the spot. Its overkill really but dead is dead and my gun is always sighted in with the same bullets so if I want to hunt moose or deer I know where its shooting. It doesn't do the hides any favours but you said it doesn't matter anyways, quite often the exit hole makes it look like a baseball went through it.
 
130 Game kings make a very nice, small entrance hole. The exit hole is another story.

If you are trying to save pelts I would seriously look at another (smaller) caliber. Something in the 22 centerfire like 223, 22-250, 222 and the likes. 270 is just too much for pelt saving IMO.

Well I didn't read that very thoroughly did I? Hehe. Strongly suggest the 130 GK's then. :D
 
Whatever your gun shoots best. My Tikka shoots 130 Winchester power points very well. Coyotes are small so the first thing you have to do is hit them and with a 270 it's also the last thing you have to do.
 
I shot some foxes the other night with 130gr Corelokt reloads, DRT an quite explosive head shots... id be looking into those green box remingtons 130's

Thanks everybody for all the responses. I think I'm going to pick up a box of Winchester power points and the Remington core lokt both in 130 grain. They are both the easiest to find locally too so I will see which one groups better. Hoping to get out Wednesday and try it out. Thanks again for all the input it's really appreciated.
 
Any cheap(inexpensive) box of .270 Win will kill Coyotes Dead.
Federal Blue Box if you need some direction.
Nothing replaces shooting skills and trigger time to become one with your gun/scope/ammo choice.
BTW, have you read up on AJH and his coyote threads, the guy is a wealth of knowledge in his quest to shoot coyotes.
