I have some winchester 748 powder I want to use up for may 270, does anybody have any recipes for this powder. I picked up a pack of 100, 130gr. remington core-lokt psp bullets at wholesale sports the other day so I would like to reload these.

Can't find any recipes for that powder in 270 cartridges. I believe its used in 30-30, 308, though. go to winchester powder site for more info.

tigrr is right... 748 has too fast of a burn rate for a larger capacity case like the 270. A slower burning powder like Win. 760, RL 19, RL 22, IMR / H 4350, 4831, etc., will give you much better results with a 130 gr bullet.

Well I can not help you either, my 270 loves H-4350 and 130 grain Noslers, or Sierra pro-hunters.
Been 2-3 years since i loaded for it so the exact charge does not ring home.
But I am sure its a full load as normal for me.
I could not get the velocity as high as the 4831 powders but the accuracy was excellent

You can load 748 in the .270, but you will hit maximum pressure before you get the velocity most folks would expect from this cartridge. With a 130 gr bullet, a starting load should be about 40.0 grs, but don't expect to get much more than moderate velocity. A magnum primer might help.

I checked with all my manuals and they all have no listing for win 748 in 270 win.
but is listed for your 22-250rem for use in 40gr.-55gr. only .in my manuals.

I have found published .270 Winchester W-748 data for cast bullets, but not much for jacketed bullets. In view of 748's burn rate, I find that curious. Data is available for similar powders such as 4895, and even faster powders such as 3031, but 748 seems to be ignored. I see no reason for this, and I would not hesitate to use it.
