Looking for a recipe on a tried, tested and true 150 gr .270 Wby load. I've got 2 boxes of non-moly Nosler Partition Gold's I'm wanting to try out this year so they'll basically be the same as the regular Partitions.

Ted? Doug? ;) Some of you .270 Wby guys must have something kicking around :).

Thanks,
ILBR

You must work up the load for your rifle. A load that shoots well out of one rifle very likely won't out of another.

Sorry, I know you're just trying to be helpful. Yes, I am familiar with working up a load - am just looking for a load that has worked well for some and I can use as a basis for working up my own for my rifle. Powder, primer, etc... that has been a go to load for someone with a 150 gr. Partition or other.

I used to own one, and mine liked IMR7828 for powder.

150gr Winchester Power-Point, IMR-7828 74.0grs, Wby case, Fed#215, 3.300" COL, 3216fps
This was from a 24" barrel Vanguard.

Thanks. You're the second person who has said IMR 7828 was the powder of choice for the 270 Wby. I've tried IMR4350, IMR4831, and most recently RL22 with fairly good results but will have to give the 7828 a go I think.

RE22 is a very consistent powder in my 270 Wby. The best I have used is H450, but it is no longer available.

No problem at all getting 3200 fps with 150s using either powder, and Hodgdon show the same velocity on their website using 7828.

Haven't had a 270 WBY for quite a while but both of mine liked 66 Grs. IMR 4350 with 150s for 3200+. Don't expect too much for accuracy the Partion Golds, at least in my experience.
