Beauty long range rig...A 270 howitzer.

I was scratching my head at the 3300 fps...27" barrel solves that.

I load up stiff 3/4moa rounds with a Sierra 130gr GameKing and 59gr of IMR4831...3150 fps out a 22" barrel 700 mountain rifle...It thunders like a lightening bolt on game...Your 3300fps load must hit like a tactical nuke...WOW !

It's a combination of barrel length and RL#26.
Like a few others i thought the 3300 ft/sec was a miss-print…I was grateful to get 3,000 ft/sec with 130g SGK and 55g of IMR4350 out of my Browning Safari grade 270Win with a 22” barrel. Ive got/ accumulated three vintage chronographs and am tempted to buy a Garmin. But at this point in time, I know if I get another cronograph and or a borescope I’m gonna go down another rabbit hole forever.
Nice rig, nice performance !!!!!

There’s a lot of free horse power in longer barrels.

I’ e got a load with Superformance and 140 grain Game hangers that puts out 3180 fps in a couple Winchester Featherweights with 22” barrels. Sort of woke them both up. I don’t know if there’s published data for that combination or even that powder in a 270 Win. Shoots about the same as the rifles shoot other loads, and you don’t buy a fewtherweight to shoot 1000 yards anyway.

I also have a custom 240 weatherby that rockets at 3,684 fps. Again, this rifle has a 27" barrel, RL#26 accompained with a 90 grain accubond. The antelope in my avatar and a mule deer buck folded with that 240 Wby.

Just for comparison I get just over 3400 fps with 58 grains IMR 4831 and a Nosler 100 grain Partition out a Model 700 rebarrled with a 23" Douglas...It's a real buck eye popper all the way out there.

Your near 3700 fps must just about blow the innards right out the back door !

It does a nasty job, especially with bloodshot. Here is the damage on the mule deer buck. Broke two ribs, one on each side of the body, and the lungs were mush. The 90 grain bullet was found on the far-side, under the hide, weighed 36 grains.

That's where I like to crank them...many times drops them instantly but the ratio of devastation to meat loss is good plus well bled out...A win on all counts.

Steve sure does build some awesome rifles.
Yours sounds to be another great one.
Mine shoots the Nosler 130gr Ballistic tip very well.
Indeed, E.M. Precision are awesome gunmakers. They are mostly into the precision style of rifles, however they will build a hunter whatever his desires. I only choose the Bob Jury stainless steel barrels, awesome barrel maker, I have them on two other rifles, 240 and 257 Weatherby.
