Hi guys, I'm going on a moose hunt in Northern Ontario this fall and will be taking my 270wsm. I've pretty much decided on Winchester xp3 ammo, however at the range (50 & 100 yds) I find that I get better groupings from the 130gr. Although the 150gr are fairly tight the 130gr clover at 100yds. My question is given the design of this particular ammo would a 130gr bullet suffice for a moose (out to 300yds)?
Thanks!

The 130 grain ammo will certainly work for your stated purpose. My 270 WSM also seems to shoot 130 grain bullets a little better, and the largest animals that I've shot have been bull elk.

I was horrified that first time someone suggested that mechanical accuracy of a rifle/cartridge had little to do with how effective it was as a hunting tool. Once you accept that good enough is good enough, it leaves the field wide open to select loads and bullets by what they do after they get there.
