My partner just got into reloading and has purchased a 270 wsm in sako he is wanting to know what type of primers , powders , and bullets work best to work up a load so he can go and get busy on the range any information on a load recipe would be much appreciated .............. thanks for your time patience and effort to the guys that send some recipes to this link BB

the problem with asking for recipes online is, every rifle is different, what bullet / powder combo works in one rifle, may not work in his, whats a safe load in ones rifle, may be a severe over load in another..

does he know what type of factory ammunition shoots best? as fas as bullet weight / type? if hes just starting to get into reloading, hes best off to read 2-3 reloading manuals, cross reference the date as far as powder type / charge weight goes, and work up from the lowest starting load. under stand the signs of over pressure and what to watch for..

im sure you will get lots of "i use this bullet with this powder" answers, and for the most part they will probably be safe, but please take each with a grain of salt and dont expect it to work or be safe.

Your choice of powder and primer might be limited... there's been a shortage for quite some time now. I'm shooting 130 gr TSX bullets over RL 19 powder and CCI 250 primers. And I'll second what ultimate_monkey said, what works for one rifle might not for another.

check out a reloading manuel as to what powders work with the weight bullet he wants and go shopping. just because you pick a particular powder it may well not be avalable. design your load arround avalable components unless you have a good stash of powder and bullets already. possible choices are rel 17, 19 and22. 4350 imr or hodgedon or 4831h. these is lots of choice.

...and if the cartridges won't chamber after reloading then you'll have to do what so many other owners of the 270 WSM have had to do (myself included) and that is to take a small amount off the shell holder to allow the die to set the neck back far enough. This issue has even been noted in magazine articles.
