Hey fellas I just picked up a Sako 75 in 270 Wsm.I am looking for some load suggestions for 130Gr Speer grandslams and 130 gr Nosler B tips.

I had great results loading 150 gr Interlocks over Retumbo in a Tikka 270wsm. 70.0 grains for 3040 fps and half inch groups more often than not.

130 gr TSX over 67.0 grs H4831sc did 3200 fps and almost as good accuracy.

I'll 2nd the vote with Retumbo but I use 140gr Accubonds in my 2 Tikka T3 LS 270WSM rifles. One is a compressed load, the other is 2 grains less.

Another .270/140gr fan here. I just started working up loads with RL19 and have some other powders to try too.

I have a Sako 85 in 270 Wsm and am just starting to reload for it so this might give me a bit of s starting place. - So many choices and combinations of bullets and power - some days it feels overwhelming especially since Im starting to reload for a bunch of different calibers

I heard some hunters saying that when they were reloading the speed of their bullets was too fast when making a double lung shot - it went through the deer without having a chance to expand. They said they had to reduce the bullet speed.
If most of your hunting for whitetails isnt beyond 100 yards would any of these combinations be a potential problem? - or did they draw the wrong conclusion/maybe just a bad bullet that didnt expand?? thoughts??
