Hey all,

I currently shoot a Tikka T3 Hunter in .270win. Was wondering if anyone ever came up with a nice long distance load? I rarely hear of a .270win being used for long distance shooting but I really enjoy it. Soon will be shopping for a .308. Thanks!

I used to use 150 hornady sst,140 bergers and h4831,in my 270 out to 600,never had much luck with it after that but I gave up and went to a 6.5 -06.Now thinking of going back to it with a 1-8 twist and shoot some 170 gr bergers or matrix if I can get them.
If you have a 1-10 twist I think a 150 gr. Nosler LRAB might get you out there aways or a 150 berger, something with a BC around .600 should work.My 6.5 shot the Lapua 139 gr to 1200 yards very well and they had a BC around .580.
Always wanted to try the 150 LRAB"s in my 270 but couldn't find any back then,They claim a BC over .600

I was just thinking of starting to reload rounds for my 270 yesterday. I really only use it for deer (which Ive only been out once, but I do take out out ever fall to shoot) so I would like to keep hunting bullets in mind and I came up with hornady's new 145gr eldx bullets with a bc of .536. Pushed with h4350, h4831 or h1000 looks like with wouldnt be a bad round to shoot and play around with. Dont know how far your long distance means to you. :)

Whats what I came up with by looking around for a few minutes yesterday

I have used .270 for years have found that a load of 4064 [43.5] with 130gr gave me very good groups at 500 meters 2/1/8 and a 49 out of 50 in a benchrest match .
