270win with barnes 130gr TSX or TTSX

Hi fellow Reloaders

One of my friend just bought a ruger in 270 win and I am looking for some advice because I am more shooter/reloader than hunter

purpose hunting deer mostly and moose occasionnaly
is the 130gr TTSX enough for moose ??

feel free to share your combos bullet/powder who will suit my needs

Yes it would be appropriate for moose.

I use 150 s now in my 270 but when I did use 130 s I had good luck / accuracy using a max load of h-1000. Weren't barnes though. Speer 130s.

The 130 TTSX is a fine bullet for Bullwinkle - guys have been using 130 grain cup & core bullets for moose for generations, and the TTSX is way more bullet than a c&c.

I would use the TTSX over the TSX, though. 50 thou off the lands and moving quickly is a good place to start.

I use 130 ttsx over just about a max load of H4831. Works like sledgehammer. I loaded to advertised length and it works for about 1moa. The deer and elk can't tell the difference.

you guys use large primer or large magnum

I shoot standard large in mine. 59gr of RL22 130grain at 3075fps.

Standard primer (well, CCI BR2 benchrest primers, but not a magnum primer).

im soon to be shooting the Vor tx loading of the TTSX, an then I have some TTSX projies to load also.

apparently it IS the bullet for the 270 and the big critters!

I cant wait to be honest, a powder of ADI AR 2209 will be the choice.


The projies themselves are always accurate
