I read a few months back about the Matrix 270's but did not see if anyone has field tested them yet. Who has sent them down range and what results are you getting.

I Have a big bucket of these sitting here waiting for my barrel. These have garnered some extremely serious attention from US LR Benchrest shooters in the states.

Matrix bullets are as good as any bullet - quality wise - you can get your hands on. They use Berger J4 Jackets and this caliber fits in an incredibly important niche... the 6.8mm diameter is perfect for creating a very high BC profile, and soing so with acceptable barrel life and recoil.

I am building a 6.8-284 to use with these pills. According to what I have been able to research, the BC of these bullets is .700 I don't care who you are... that is incredible.

Those wanting to go the 270 WSM route are all set. Lesser cartridges will likely require a bit more twist that is considered standard for 270 barrels.

Obtuned, thanks for the reply. I've been waiting to see reports but they are slow coming in. I have a 270 now, it's my go to rifle and I want to "build something". If it's another 270 one set of dies works as my two daughters are starting to shoot and hunt. another standard 270 with a 1-8.5 or 9 twist barrel will work for us. Looking forward to your reports when the barrel comes in.

While on the subject of Matrix, I am impatiently awaiting the arrival of a few hundred of his .308/210 gr VLDs (BC .7525) which I ordered after seeing this thread. It will be interesting to shoot them against the 210 gr Bergers.

Absolutely not too shabby at all!! The 300WSM has opened a big can of whoop-ass in the US in the last year and I would think that these bullets would just rock in that cartridge.
