Hey everyone. I just got my 28 nosler build back about at month ago and I've basically just got the barrel broke in, and started my first rounds of load development. I just wanna know who in Canada is running the 28 and what loads you like ie powders primers exc. also just some expierances.

Hey everyone. I just got my 28 nosler build back about at month ago and I've basically just got the barrel broke in, and started my first rounds of load development. I just wanna know who in Canada is running the 28 and what loads you like ie powders primers exc. also just some expierances.

I've got a bunch of data straight from Berger on that bullet and the 28 if you want. There's a lot of BS floating around on the net, so tread with care. At the moment I'm using RL33.

I have already started my load development with reloader 33 and up until yesterday I was having trouble dialling it in. I found my perfect load I think. I am shooting a trued Remington 700 with a #5 benchmark 27 1/4" barrel 1-8 twist with muzzle brake and a long throat for the 195's. I have a bedded greyboe stock wyatts extended mag and trigger tech trigger topped off with a nightforce SHV 5-20x56. The load I found that works the best for me is 85.0gr of Rl33 coal 3.745 and that is .015 off the Lands. Velocity is 3120fps and It.s shooting .1 to .2 out to 640. I shocked myself with a 1.07" group at 640. I had to confirm this with another 3 shot group and the second group was 1.7". I have new shot a rifle at that range with groups that good. Conditions were very good minus dealing with mirage. but with patients I shot two amazing groups. and it is constantly under a inch at 300. one thing I found was that the loads that a lot of people are posting are way over pressured in my rifle. the 88-89gr that some are shooting would not work in my rifle. I hit pressure signs at 86.5 and went to 87 and thought I shouldn't push it. With the long pipe I'm using I was able to get the velocities others are getting with 3 grains more powder so I am happy. I found my ES is a little to wide at 25fps but it still groups very well. I think that is due to the extreme B.C. of that bullet I have a Scott Parker tuned redding beam scale on order that will for sure help the ES. All and all I am very happy with my 28Nosler. I think its the top dog in the 7mm.

If I put 88-89 grains in mine I'd be looking for the pieces or at least a snipe. My 29 inch Frozen Fiber barrel averaged 3068 today, with 81 grains of RL33. I was doing 82 in the colder weather but eventually had to admit it was too hot. COL to tag lands is 3.690" and I'm shooting it at 3.670"

Rifle is a Defiance Rebel action with the mentioned 29" FF carbon wrapped barrel, McMillan carbon A3 Hunter, Trigger Tech, HS Precision bottom end, and 8.5-25 Mark 4 up top.

I settled on 80 grains of re33 in my 28 nosler, the rifle was throated for 180 berger vld's but the 195's shoot better. Barrel is a 26" benchmark #5 1in9" twist, I have not had any problems with stability using a 9" twist, velocity is right around 3000fps. the oal with the 195's is 3.615", .020 jump. Since the photo I have changed the 3.5-15x50 with a 2.5-10x42 and installed a T2 brake, I found the recoil very sharp with such a light build.
