I've got this Lyman brand 2-7 scope I bought from SIR around 1980.

I've had it on two different guns and just put it on a third one yesterday.

I think it was made in Japan.

It has held together pretty well.

Does anyone else have one?

Do you know what company made them, or what Japanese outfit was using the Lyman brand at the time.

Stroebel lists the 2-7X as part of the "All American" line. It was made from 1978-1983, and there's no mention of Japan, or manufacturer other than Lyman. Lyman last offered scopes in 1985. My best guess is that intense off-shore competition is what did in the Lyman rifle scope line. Stroebel has a new rifle scope book due out this Dec., and there will be much up-dated info in it...
