Is there anyone out there that has info on the this load? I can't find any info at all anywhere for making a load. I have several powders to work with. Imr 4350,4895,4831,7828. Help please. Lol
 
My Cooper liked R-22 best behind the 140gr TTSX, but IMR4831 did almost as well. I used 59gr of IMR 4831, with Nosler brass, and a Federal 210 primer. I seated the bullets .050" off of the lands.
 
So I worked up a load using imr 4831. Best group I got was .895"@100m. And moving averaging 2899.55fps with a 3 shot group over the chrony. I'm overall pretty happy with that and can't wait to see how the billet proforms on game.
 
accuracy is great but speeds a bit slow? Should be up around 3100 fps in an Ackley. 2900 not much more than a 7-08

This!! X2 I drive the 140's out of my 7x57 at 2900+.
The standard 280 should do 100 fps more, and the AI an additional 100 fps.

My SAUM makes 3100 with the 140's, and capacity is close to the AI.

not that the deer give a rats ass, dead is dead. my 280 Ackley shoots 145gr LRX @ 3050 fps, best groups. Have gotten them to 3180 but accuracy wasn't as stellar
 
SPEED is secondary to accuracy of course. Depending on the rifle, barrel length and twist rate; play a part in the velocity. there is info in internet, but the Nosler data looks good for the IMR powder
I doubt there will be any difference on game at 2900 or3100.
 
Ya I figure speeds were a tad slow. I'm shorting a browning x bolt with a 22" barrel. When I worked up the load I was seeing signs of over pressure on the cartridges over this load. My 3 shot average over the chrony was 2899.55fps.
