What Redding neck bushing for the s die sets are MOST of you using to size 280 AI Brass - My loaded shells ( factory and reloads with diff brand bullets ) measure mostly .310 +- .005 Thxs RJ
That would depend on your neck thickness and if you turn your necks. Normally Redding recommends a bushing .002 smaller than the neck of a loaded round.
"BUT" if you do not neck turn they recommend .004 smaller and use the expander.
In the Forster bushing bump die in that caliber they come with three bushings, .308, .306 and .304. This compensates for different neck thicknesses and if the necks are turned.
NOTE, I get less neck runout with the Forster full length benchrest dies than with bushing dies with standard off the shelf factory rifles. When the neck is reduced .004 or more with a bushing it will induce neck runout. And Redding recommends reducing the neck diameter in two steps if reducing the diameter .004 or more. Bushing dies work best with tight neck chambers and neck turned brass.
Come on, you’re slipping. Don’t tell me you don’t have some drawings or graphics to illustrate that!![]()
