Let it stick out of the case until there is not enough neck tension to hold it in place, then push it back in a couple of thou'. There is no "safe" limit to this, it all depends on the particular bullet, case design, neck tension, magazine length, freebore, etc. Set you bullet out until it touches the rifling, and see if it will stay in the case. If it does, make it 0.005" shorter then that and try it there. Move in at 0.005" intervals until you see an improvement in your groups. Use the most accurate load you have now, but be aware that as you change the COL, that load may (or may not) be as accurate as it is now. FWIW - dan
