286 gr Privi Partizan 9.3 bullets

Anybody found any in Canada yet?

Last April at the Kamloops Gun Show, I bought 3 boxes from Dave Friesen at bcredneck.com. He had "lots" then.

Since then, I read somewhere(another forum) that they had been discontinued.

Have you tried the new Hornady 286 gr offering? Higginsons should have them by now.

Andrew at Higginson should have the Hornady as Mauser98 mentioned.
I think they were going to be 27-30 bucks a box. I have a whack of 250gr Accubonds to burn up and some cast to try, then I will be going for the Hornady fodder too.

BCredneck was the only one in Canada I've heard of who had the PRVI's but I had heard they were being discontinued.

Are they your favorite Ted?

I picked up a "fair bit" of those from Doug Rayner (Raynershine Gunworks) a few months ago. His number is 306-689-2654. Graf and Sons list him as one of their Canadian dealers. Might want to call him up and confirm that he's still carrying their product.

No, just wanted to give them a try as my supply of 286 gr Norma Dual Cores is winding down.

I have shot several tons (literally) of big game with the Normas.

The Hornady Interlock should be a good bullet. How do the Accubonds shoot?

Ted

I haven't gotten much better than 1 1/4" groups so far Ted. I am thinking it will do better with heavier bullets as it seems to shoot even the 270gr Speer better. I got some 286gr Lapuas from Bob to try as well. They are a semi spitzer that look like they mean buisness. When I finally get to try these heavy Cast boolits maybe she will really shine.

Sorry Nestor, I forgot you had mentioned to me about Raynershine too!

I bought 500 9.3's 286 privi partizan from Raynershine, $32.00 per hundred if you order 500. There are reports on the US forums that they have been discontinued or can't be supplied to Graf's.

Peter, do you carry these?
I am pretty sure this is the bullet that I got from Bob. They are a semi-spitzer.
Do you have any load data for them?

Ted, I don't have any Hornady's yet. The Christmas crunch is on. Maybe Santa will hear my plea..

BC Redneck got a big shipment in last spring, may or may not have any left. He seems to be the guy to call for PP stuff. There was a long period of time last year when PP wasn't making or shipping the 286 gr., but supply seems to have caught up since then.

WSS has had 9.3 Speer 270 gr. in stock on a fairly regular basis. I've been working up some loads with the speers in a 9.3x57 and getting some pretty decent results with them.

The 270 Speer is a very reliable bullet. I have used it in both the '57 and the '62 with great results on big game. River Rat has used it as well on moose with no problem getting great penetration.

Just wanting to give the PPs a try. I will contact BR Redneck.

Thanks,
Ted

How fast are you getting the speer 270s out of your x57? Nice to know they work on game, I wasn't sure they would expand reliably at x57 velocities, "Course when they start out at .366" maybe they don't need to expand much.

They will open up don't worry.;) I'll try to find the 270gr from my moose to show you.

Ted, Trade Ex has the Prvi's, $46/per 100ct.:)

I picked up some 225gr 375 cal that I am going to try swaging down, they look to fill the neck perfectly just like the 270 speer does.

Weighed the rifle I just received last night (less the bolt the exporter lost) it weighs only 5 1/2lbs. This is going to hurt regardless of projectile used. No wonder it shows little use.
