28ga and 410 non tox

What's everyone prefered non tox loads for the 28ga and 410?
Classic doubles. Hevi bismuth and rst are the stand outs and I plan on testing all and any other brands I can find

I bought Kent Bismuth several years ago, and it has worked well in my 28gauge SxS.

I wish I could find some 410 non-toxic...would love to do some dove hunting with my lever 410 this fall.

That's what I use. I've used Kent Bismuth 28 ga #6 in a Beretta A400, Win 101 and a Browning 725 with no issues. Haven't bought any non-toxic in .410.

I don't shoot non tox out of my 410's, but I hand load Bismuth and Nice Shot for my 28's 20's 16's and 12's, both muzzle loaders and cartridge guns, black and with smokeless.

Have only been able to source Federal's copper plated #6 loads for the 28 so far. Need to get out and pattern it and then try it hunting.

I doubt I'll take mine out on the lake but in the ponds and marshes and creek banks I'll going to use the 28 and 410 this fall. Should be perfect for woodies and decoying mallards

Nice Shot is a bit easier to deal with, Bismuth tends to clump up if you do not use mica dust or some other type of dry lubricant on it.
There also seems to be more data out there for Bismuth , so it is a bit of a toss up.
Both work well as far as killing power goes.

Me too.... I've used the old Winchester bismuth #6 and Winchester steel #6 with modest results. I wish it was easier to find better commercial loads for waterfowl.

I split a flat of Hevi-Bismuth 1oz 28ga 4s last year. I haven’t had a chance to try them out yet but hopefully this year.

May I ask where you found that? I'd be interested in #4 non-tox

I’m fortunate that my local range is affiliated with BowMac Gunpar so they ordered it in for me. Almost every dealer in Canada deals with Bowmac to some degree, so ask you local shop to look for you. Hold on to your hat for the current pricing though.

The flat I picked up was all that was available in the country at that time from
Bowmac.
