I have a box of what seems to be .22 Centre Fire. Anyone out there know anything about what they could be? They are .22 inches in diameter and .88 inches in length. They are not a straight casing but have a shoulder. Any ideas what they are?
The measurement at the base is 0.296, below the shoulder is 0.286 and above the shoulder is 0.24.View attachment 462190View attachment 462189
Someone has suggested that these are a British shell that date back to prior to 1900. Any other suggestions?

That would be a bugger to get brass for.

Yeah if he's got a full box it's probably worth a fair amount to collectors.
I bought a little Martini that was said to have this chambering but it's been reamed out to something different. In my research I found ways to make the brass. The internet is a godsend because no matter how obscure someone out there is doing it! Parent case is 22 Hornet I think.
