2X red dot

aimpoint makes a 2X magnification red dot , is there any disadvantage to having 2X magnification in one unit ? if none then why is it not common ?

i would think as eyes gets older more mag red dot should be avail.

I have a CompC3 in 2X and the 1MOA dot. Wonderful scope, very quick to acquire the target and easy to use.

It is a fixed magnification unit and the only disadvantage I can see in a lack of more magnification

yeah, 2X is the max and 3X for the magnifyer which can cost just as much a aimpoint scope .

besides , there is no room to put the magnifyer on a cz858 .

wellll i have a brand new one made by truglow, 2X and i
never even installed it. the parlaxx is terible. u move
your head and the dot moves. $225 P.O.S.

I have the Aimpoint Comp ML2 2X and it has been awesome. Got a small mulie buck with it off my M305 2 weeks ago. I like that it is an all in one package for hunting. The unlimited eye relief is a bonus too.

Aimpoint CompC3 2X 2MOA dot on a Savage Scout (sight mounted forward of action) in .308. A great combination. No parallax problem. Very quick and positive target acquisition. Has ten clicks for adjusting dot brightness intensity. Fine in bright sunshine.
