For anyone interested. A nice 3/4 ton 1953 Chrysler army truck sitting at the car dealer in Cameron (just north of Lindsay). I stopped and took a look. It's in good shape and 95% intact. Still has everything original, and has been well oiled over the years. Still has folding original troop seats in the back. I think the car dealer is called North Country Sales. Truck is sitting within 10 feet of side of highway 35. Really cool-looking vehicle. In very good shape for its age.

I drove one in Cyprus for six months 1978-1979. It was our 'Line Change' vehicle, and when shifts changed on the OPs in Nicosia, Line Change 3/4 tons went out from the Ledra Palace Hotel, one truck to change Line East and one to change Line West. During the "Five Quarter Ton" years in the 70s-80s, DND asked Dodge if they could build a modern version of the M-37, but alas, as the ledgend has it, Dodge had JUST thrown out the tooling. We ended up with the LSVW in the early nineties. The LSVW might have been a good truck, had we taken Western Star's rumoured advice.
