3 gun match carbine question

depends on where you're shooting.

^This...

There are some matches where they'll run a division known as "trooper". It's more open than open in that you can use whatever you want providing you carry it. So... You could use both a .45 carbine and a rifle cal carbine if you wanted...

Depends what and where you are shooting.

The matches I am putting on allow them and scoring is not a problem because you don't use more than one firearm on any given target during the stage.

You just have to make minimum power factor of 150 and your gun is good to go.

Depends on who is holding the course. The three I've run have stated rifle calibre for the rifle portion of the course (223, 308 7.62x39, etc).

Are you asking about IPSC (3 Gun)
USPSA (Multi Gun)
or something else?

question came up after reading many 3 gun match adds and they are not IPSC or USPSA.. just generic 3 gun matches to have fun (not to say IPSC or USPSA are not fun :) and answer looks like is always ask before bringing one or other carbine setup to the match if it's not defined clearly in the description of the match.

Why would it or should it matter unless they score hits differently for handgun & rifle? A hole in the A zone is a hole in the A zone no matter if you put it there with a pistol or rifle, or from 5 yd's or 100 yd's. Making you use a different caliber sounds like a bullsh8 rule.
